In the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to a moon, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na'vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture.

What to say. I was definitely one of those people who had reservations with this movie before and when it came out without knowing the details. Even being one who is seeking a career in CG and one who by default always love 3Ds, I wasn&#39;t sure if it would pay off. Soon I gave up with all these good reviews and praises so I went to see it today. I am glad I went and that my money was well spent.<br/><br/>First of all, don&#39;t expect that the story is going to be revolutionary and blow you away with characterizations and deep deep meanings, but do expect to be blown away by the visuals, the level of details, and mesmerized by the character animations. This is the first time that I actually felt for the CGI characters, surely if you analyze it visually, you would find faults and inadequacy VS. a real human performance but damn it I was amazed that a non existing character could deliver so much. The character effects made the leap over the uncanny valley, it may be still suspended in midair over the abyss of the valley but it made the jump, it moved the whole industry standard up a notch. This is the the staple of the next gen., the forerunner to what&#39;s to come in CG.<br/><br/>At the end of the movie, you would feel abit depressed because Jake(The main character) found a new life but for us, we are back into the dream.(Watch the movie, you will know what I mean) This is what movie meant to do–to transport us into a world, to forget all the (real)vanities and trouble of the world and just relax and enjoy the scant glimpse of the good parts of life for a few hours. Surely you have to come back down but damn it enjoy the joy while it lasts.<br/><br/>I am a cynic; the story brings nothing new, cheesy dialogues, big eye candies but damn do I love it. This is a movie where good execution combining with a simple story end up make you feel more than what you expect yourself to be able to.<br/><br/>Just take this as a pop corn movie and enjoy the show! Reflection upon humanity might be a side effect, you are warned!
Avatar is very especial movie. It&#39;s made of 2009 but I still like.<br/><br/>This movies environment and roles very fantastic. Two different universe&#39;s organism connect with each other. It&#39;s very interesting. I think this movie different from others which means uniqueness. Humans are really greedy. Some people think of destroying natural resources.<br/><br/>As a result everything and wild nature is being in some country.<br/><br/>Some small items are expensive for someone. Everything is amazing in the world but we must protect them. It&#39;s wonderful to see world from another side. You can do whatever you want. It's been twelve years since "Titanic," but the King of the World has returned with a flawed but fantastic tour de force that, taken on its merits as a film, especially in two dimensions, warrants four stars. However, if you can wrap a pair of 3D glasses round your peepers, this becomes a transcendent, full-on five-star experience that's the closest we'll ever come to setting foot on a strange new world. Just don't leave it so long next time, eh, Jim?
First of all there&#39;s the well-known record-breaking theatrical version that runs approximately 155 minutes and is available on Blu-ray/DVD. During its theatrical run Cameron announced that he&#39;d planned to release extended versions of his movie, as well.<br/><br/>The first extended cut is the so-called Special Edition of the movie that had a theatrical release a couple months after the original run. There are one or two extended scenes which deepen existing portions of the plot on an emotional level and some completely new scenes. Those, however, only deepen the parts already known, but do not offer the viewer new possibilities of consideration or interpretation of the actual story. Among the highlights of the new scenes is the visit to a deserted Na&#39;vi school by Grace, Norm and Jake. The other scenes are often simply contextual extensions. They include, among other things, scenes of Jake and Neytiri fusing their tendril features during their extra-terrestrial intercourse, the Na&#39;vi and Jake hunting and burning the humans&#39; excavating machines and Dr. Augustine&#39;s scientific explanation for the floating mountains. This new Special Edition runs approximately 8 minutes longer than the original theatrical version.<br/><br/>Furthermore there&#39;s the Extended Edition. The Extended Edition can be seen as a kind of bonus version. It is based upon the Special Edition and is nearly completely identical to it—except for the opening of the film. Initially, &quot;Avatar&quot; was to start on Earth. In the end, Cameron removed these scenes, because they would delay the plot. Only small parts of it were shown during Jake Sully&#39;s opening monologue. Cameron clearly prefers the classical start of the film aboard the spacecraft. However, the fans&#39; disappointment with the missing scenes on Earth was so profound that Cameron decided to insert them in this extended edition. Thus, it must rather be viewed as some kind of bonus for fans. This Extended Edition runs approximately 7 minutes longer than the Special Edition and 15 minutes longer than the theatrical version and can be found in the Extended Collector&#39;s Edition.
